Bill Services and Calculations
What services are you billed for and how are they calculated?
Services on the Bill
The monthly services on the utility bill are water, sewer, sanitation (garbage), drainage, and other
miscellaneous charges as applicable, e.g. customer requested re-reads, customer requested
extra garbage pick-ups. See "Rate Tables" for rates.
Water
The water charge is based on actual usage per unit (unit=1,000 gallons).
Rate structures vary for winter and summer water consumptions.
Sewer
The sewer charge is a per-unit charge based on the meter size and the amount of water usage.
Sanitation (Garbage Collection)
Sanitation services are contracted out and are provided by I.E.S.I. for residents in McKinney.
Your service is activated through the Utility Billing Department when you establish your water
service. I.E.S.I. can be reached at 469-452-8000. Trash pick up is provided once a week.
Drainage Fees
It is necessary to maintain and repair existing storm drainage systems and minimize natural stream erosion.
This charge is passed on to the customer through their monthly water billing.
THIS CHARGE WAS IMPLEMENTED IN JUNE 2002. For more drainage information click here. |
